Review: Ferrero’s new trade website

Our regular contributor and former retailer Steve Denham takes a look at the new Ferrero trade website and examines how it could help make you more money from your confectionery range in the run-up to Christmas.

Ferrero UK have launched a website to support retailers. The site is full of useful ideas to help store owners sell more of Ferrero’s range and currently opens to December’s page on their calendar. Each new month brings a different sales focus.

This month, as expected, it’s all about Christmas, and the site has links to the Ferrero Rocher Christmas advert and six key points to maximise box chocolate sales. Point 1 is “New product developments (NPD) are important for seasonal relevance”, but remember more than 85% of sales come from the core SKUs, with the all year round best sellers providing a greater rate of sale.

So far the calendar is loaded with tips and information up to March next year, including New Year, Valentines and Easter as you would expect. The calendar also covers Pancake Day (a key opportunity to sell Nutella) the Chinese New Year and the Winter Olympics.

Elsewhere on the site there’s everything a retailer needs to know about their range and the full Ferrero point of sale (PoS) catalogue. The Drive Sales section is well worth a visit: it’s full of useful information and tips to help sell more confectionery.

This is a trade website that will be worth visiting again and again.
