“In my store, it’s the natural products without additives and artificial colours that are becoming dominant. I think that’s because schools have put a lot of strict regulation into what children can and can’t have in their lunchboxes, so we have to be aware of this and provide a range that fits in with these requirements. Kids still want their sweets and chocolates, but mums are looking for cereal bars and fruit bars. We recently introduced giant cookies for 99p which are going really well – it’s about offering something a bit different than the norm.”
