With temperatures sizzling into the 30s, Mars Chocolate has given its top tips for heating up your sales this summer.
Bep Dhaliwal, trade communications manager for Mars Chocolate, said during the summer retailers should ensure they make it easy for consumers to buy all they need for a particular occasion, such as an informal gathering.
“Siting products such as M&M’s alongside savoury snacks and drinks promotes additional basket spend in store,” she added. Making sure summer favourites are at eye level on a wall display can also increase visibility.
Mars said it is also a good idea to multiface bestselling lines as this not only helps them stand out, but also ensures strong availability.
Once the products are in position, making them stand out with PoS and in-store theatre can inspire your shoppers to spend more. “Posters, dumpbins and bunting are guaranteed to raise awareness and sales,” she said.
This summer Mars Chocolate has launched a raft of new products and campaigns, most recently Galaxy Duet. It has also extended its Snickers brand with Snickers & Hazelnut, which is available in singles and multipacks of four.
Mars is also giving away one million England themed footballs as part of an on-pack promotion on singles, duos and multipacks.
