• Eleven out of 12 lines surveyed are charged at their most-common price by the majority of retailers, highlighting that crisps & snacks is a category where price-marked packs have a big presence.
• The exception is Lay's Barbecue Rib, most-common price £1.99. Seventy-four percent of stores exceed this price, some going as high as £3.49.
• Meanwhile, 23% of retailers exceed the most-common price on Smiths Scampi & Lemon, some going as high as £1.10 from a most-common price of 95p. It shows there is some potential to eke out extra profit on even the lower priced lines.
