Behind the numbers
Cherubs products are consistently providing retailers the best opportunity to eke out extra profit in babycare. Sixty-nine percent of retailers exceed the £1.25 most-common price on the brand's 250ml baby feeding bottle, some almost doubling it with £2.49 the highest price charged. Similarly, 60% of retailers exceed Cherubs 25 Baby Soothers most-common price of 69p, the highest price charged is more than double at £1.50.
Meanwhile, Huggies Pure Baby Wipes Jumbo 72s have a £1.49 most-common price, but store's are charging up to £2.99. Forty-three percent of retailers are going above the most-common price.
In terms of cash profit, it's worth looking at some of the higher priced lines. Cow & Gate First Infant Milk 800g has a most-common price of £12.39, comfortably the highest here. Forty-seven percent of retailers charge more, going up to £14.09.
There's less potential to gain extra profit on baby food. Both Ella's Kitchen Strawberries + Apples 120g and Farley's Rusks Originals Six Months Plus 150g have just 17% of retailers charging above the most-common price.
