Retailers were left unable to submit stock orders after Booker’s website suffered its second outage this year.
Store owners reported intermittent issues with the firm’s website on the morning of 26 April. Although some retailers were able to submit orders, the site still experienced issues continuing until 28 April. A message on the Booker website said: “The website is currently experiencing intermittent issues. We are aware of the issues are are working hard to resolve them as soon as possible. Your support is appreciated. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
Though now resolved, one retailer, who asked not to be named, told Better Retailing the issue may disrupt orders scheduled for 28 April. However RN understands order deadlines were extended and retailers are being encouraged to process orders through their EPoS in the meantime.
It is the second time this year retailers have been unable to order through the website due to technical errors. Scheduled maintenance last month had caused the website to be temporarily taken down on 17 March.
A Booker spokesperson said: “We are experiencing an intermittent issue on the site. We would like to sincerely apologise to our customers for any inconvenience and reassure them we are working hard to resolve this as soon as possible. Any customer can contact their local branch or Booker Retail Partners customer service team if they would like to place an order.”
