Booker saw like-for-like sales for the 19 weeks ending 8 January grow by 17.5%, bolstered by “strong availability” in its retail arm.
The results were revealed in Tesco’s third quarter and Christmas trading results. Booker’s retail business during the 19 weeks rose annually by 19.5%. Across the Booker group, Christmas trading saw a growth of 20.5% annually. On a two-year like-for-like basis for the 19 weeks to 8 January, sales within the wholesaler rose by 14.8%.
Tesco said the performance was “supported by strong availability,” with “Premier, Londis and Budgens performing particularly well.”
