Booker increases range available to forecourt retailers

Forecourt retailers will have access to a bigger range of products from Booker

Booker is giving forecourt retailers access to “an even bigger range” with the addition of 90 non-price-marked lines launching throughout the year.

The expansion was revealed in communication sent to retailers, seen by Better Retailing.

Products such as Skittles Giants Gooey, M&M’s Minis and new Red Bull varieties are included in the expanded range. In the communication, Booker said: “Now [we have] an even bigger range to suit our forecourt customers. More than 90 non-price-marked lines [are] launching in 2024.”

Initiatives

The news follows a number of new initiatives from Booker in recent months. In May, it was revealed that Booker was backing a Tesco Clubcard-like loyalty scheme in Premier, Londis and Budgens stores. The 12-week trial, a partnership between Booker and EPoS provider ShopMate, began on 22 May. It’s being undertaken at 20 sites, and participating retailers told Better Retailing that customers who sign up receive physical cards for the scheme.

It’s proved popular, according to retailers involved in the trial. Sam Wilson, Barry’s Premier in Leeds, told Better Retailing 200 customers had signed up to the scheme within days of it launching.

Elsewhere, Booker has been trialling a self-serve sundae and waffle concept in a Budgens store in London, earning the store £200 in additional sales per day.
