Bestway Wholesale has appointed Tim Fairs as director of marketing, with responsibility for supporting the retail arm of the business.
A former customer director with McColl’s Retail Group, Fairs has also previously held positions with Virgin, Dixons Car Phone Warehouse and Clinton Cards.
Bestway Group trading director, Kenton Burchell, said of the appointment: “Tim’s experience is highly relevant and the timing of his appointment is fortuitous as we look to develop, package and implement marketing strategies that will enable our retailers – across whichever symbol is right for them – to accelerate their growth and remain right at the forefront of independent retail and convenience.

Speaking of his appointment, Fairs said: “Consumer behaviours are changing fast in retail, which means marketing support and business agility is more important than ever as retailers look to adapt their services and products to grow their presence within their local communities. The appointment follows the announcement from Bestway this week of the launch of a new recruitment campaign aiming to attract retailers to its stable. Bestway’s brands include Best-one, Costcutter, Bargain Booze and Mace as well as several other groups.
