Bestway to further extend Costcutter fuel levy refunds

The fuel levy was implemented at the start of this year by Nisa, which is still supplying Costcutter following Bestway’s acquisition in 2020

Bestway is to extend its fuel levy refund scheme into next year, continuing to save eligible Costcutter retailers from paying £10.99 on each delivery.

The refund is available to Costcutter retailers who spend £7,500 on deliveries per week. Bestway had initially made the reimbursement available for June, July and August this year to support stores who were facing rising cost pressures. It could also be extended further following a review at the start of 2023.

Commenting on the extension of the refund, which has been praised by Costcutter retailers, a Bestway spokesperson said: “The fuel levy refund affects all Costcutter stores. As long as the retailer meets their agreed weekly spend, they still receive their £10.99 fuel levy refund.

“We are pleased to maintain this refund and have done so to help our retailers as we know every penny counts right now. We can also confirm that the fuel levy refund will continue into the new year, although we anticipate a review in early 2023.”

The fuel levy was implemented at the start of this year by Nisa, which is still supplying the symbol group following Bestway’s acquisition of Costcutter in 2020

Nisa stores are still required to pay the fuel levy, which gets reviewed every three months based on the wholesale cost of fuel.
