Convenience stores and wholesalers have faced pressure from protesters fighting the badger cull.
Flour supplier Marriage’s is alleged to be selling goods through a subsidiary called Berry Food Ingredients, that are used as bait by hunters taking part in the government’s controversial drive to cull badger populations.
In response, anti-hunt campaigners have successfully pressured several wholesalers to delist Marriage’s flour lines by calling up staff members at the firms. The supplier has since taken its ‘stockist locator’ tool offline.
The group claimed three wholefood wholesalers that supply the convenience sector – Suma, Infinity and Essential Trading – had all stopped selling Marriage’s lines following its actions.

Marriage’s had claimed it “only markets products for the feeding of wild birds”, but Essential Trading was not convinced.
A statement from the wholesaler said Marriage’s response “does not fully address the claims being made, so we have suspended purchases from Marriage’s until further notice”.
Despite a statement from the flour manufacturer claiming it will now refuse sales “if there is concern” they will be used for badger control, the boycott calls continued.
The activist group is now targeting East of England Co-op. “Contact East of England Co-op and ask them to remove Marriage’s from their shops,” advised a statement on the Stop The Hunt website.
