An Aldi spokesperson, told Better Retailing that the decision was made so they could focus on their own delivery service, “We have decided to end our trial with Deliveroo to focus on our Click and Collect service, which remains on offer at more than 200 of our stores nationwide.”

A spokesperson for Deliveroo added: “Deliveroo has enjoyed working with Aldi during the trial period. Deliveroo delivers from over 4,600 partner grocery sites in the UK and Ireland and we look forward to our service continuing to grow.”

Customers can still buy SpecialBuy products, wines and spirits online for home delivery and order groceries online for Click & Collect.
