A premium food-to-go range has relaunched into the market to help convenience retailers compete against high-quality cafés.
Adelie Foods is bringing back its Daily Bread brand, which was last on sale four years ago.
The 17-strong range contains Chicken & Avocado Flatbread, Mozzarella & Tomato Focaccia, Pastrami & Emmental Ciabatta and Ham & Mozzarella Simit.
It also contains Egg Mayo & Roasted Tomato Gluten Free Rolls to cater for the 13% of shoppers that follow a gluten-free diet.
John Want, marketing director at Adelie Foods, said businesses that are winning in food to go are the ones that are providing a good shopping experience and fresh products.
“Our business is dedicated to food to go. We make it in one of our five factories and can deliver it to every UK postcode overnight. We’re the only business who can do this,” he said.
The packs only have the Daily Bread logo on the back of them to make the products look like they could have been made in house.
“The £3 meal deal is in a precarious position at the moment – not only because of inflationary pressures, but because consumers are demanding a better quality experience,” Want added.
