I spotted something interesting in our local Sainsburys recently. Guidance on retailing comes from a variety of sources, the trade press such as Retail Newsagent, suppliers, manufactures or other retailers. Of course we should also look to the multiples as they have the budget to gather and analyse thousands of stats as to what sells and how.
Normally one doesn’t see these kinds of staff messages on display so when I saw this I had to share it.
The key message of this employee facing notice is that there is £5 million up for grabs by following the planogram correctly. Also the notice reveals some interesting facts about the butter and margarine market place.
It’s amazing what you can pick up from your local supermarket!
